First Days and Family Updates

Cate started school (2nd Grade!) on Monday! She was so excited and has really enjoyed school so far. Her teacher is an Aggie, so we couldn't be happier! Cate is also getting to go to AWANA again after a two year absence. She will be a SPARK! If you are not familiar with AWANA, it stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). It is a blend of bible teaching, scripture memorization and fun.

Cara started Preschool on Tuesday. She goes two days a week and she really likes it. She already knows several children in her class. It is a strong pre-k program and it should give her a great foundation for kindergarten. Next week, she starts God and Me at the church. She will learn about God's attributes and how to have a virtuous character.

Claire is just hanging out with mommy. She may go to Mother's Day Out one day a week next semester, but for now, she is just chillin' at home. She will be going to MOPS with mommy once a month and will have lots of fun there. She has really enjoyed having mommy all to herself and mommy likes being able to spend some one-on-one time with her. She is becoming more independent but is getting into everything humanly possible. She keeps mommy and daddy on their toes!

Ryan's school started on Monday too. He is very happy with his teaching schedule. This year, he will teach Senior Government and Economics. He will teach using curriculum by Dave Ramsey. Ryan is also going to be leading a men's bible study at the church on Saturday mornings starting in Sept.

Ashley is back to being a chauffeur/cook/maid/teacher/all around awesome mom (LOL) and continues to work at home part-time. Her hours are about to change, so if she doesn't answer the phone in the afternoon, you know why! MOPS is about to start as well as Interface (bible study). This year, she is the Publicity Coordinator for MOPS. She will be writing the monthly newsletter and maintaining the blog for our group. She is not going to be mentoring/tutoring at the elementary school she was at last year until later on in the year (schedule is just way to hectic right now. Do you see why?).

We (as in Ryan and Ashley) will be teaching Sunday School in Cara and Claire's class this year. We are on a rotating schedule teaching once a month in Cara's class and then once a month in Claire's class. We are excited about getting to serve in this capacity and I know the girls will love having us with them.

That is about it! We are busy, but it is a good busy. Many blessings to you all! And now the pictures taken on the first day of school...
