Glen Rose Vacation

We got to go see family in Glen Rose and Ft. Worth the first week of July. We had a busy and fun-filled vacation seeing family and good friends. We stayed in Glen Rose for 3 days and Ft. Worth for 3 days. The girls did not want to come home (to tell ya the truth, mommy really didn't either!). In Glen Rose, we swam at Grandmothers every day! We got to play with our cousins Rachel and Joshua, and of course hang with Grandmother. We got to go to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and feed the animals. We even had a swim party with some of our dearest friends.

Climbing on the life-size brontosaurus at Fossil Rim. This was taken at the end of the trip, so the girls were a little tired.

Beautiful Glen Rose!

For those of you who don't know, Fossil Rim is a wildlife refuge where you get to sit in your car and feed the animals (read more HERE). They come up to you. I think it is so much better than the zoo b/c you can stay inside the air conditioning and you get to feed them! Way worth it if you ever go to GR. This baby giraffe had just gone done nursing, so he was not too interested in eating the feed we had. I was so bummed! I even had the sun roof down so they could stick there head in and everything!

Some kind of mountain goat (the name escapes me), but he did eat from my hand (even though were not suppose to do that, but I use to work there so it's ok-hee hee). Not a second after I took this shot, his head was all the way in the car!

The zebras are very cool, but they do bite, so best to throw food on the ground. My two favorite quotes from this trip was spoken by Cara: "I saw that on Magascar!" and "I think they are hungry, let's feed him".

Cousin Rachel went with us. She was a big help!

Those ostriches are much bigger in person!

Claire stayed at home with Grandmother.

Mmm, Grandmother's sweet tea is the BEST! In fact, it is worth using every bit of my tongue to savor the flavor.

Great-Granny came by to see us. She gave the girls a baby doll cradle. Cara loves it

Cara turned out to be quite the fish after refusing to leave the hot tub the first day. We were so proud of her for actually swimming this year!

Ice cream and swimming. You can't beat that on a hot summer day!

Talk about a fish! Claire's a pro (swimmer and eater that is-LOL)

**Our Swim Party!**
